CEU’s For Counselors
Perhaps it’s to increase job opportunities, certificate or license renewal, or career development. Whatever the reason, continuing education is a very real need faced by therapists and those in the mental health field. The reasons to complete continuing education are clear, but sometimes it can be difficult to find CEU’s for counselors.
Approved Continuing Education Units
With time constraints, expenses, and conflicts with work, many counselors try to keep an eye out for convenient CEU opportunities. A great resource for finding opportunities is the Indiana Counselors Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, or the ICAADA. This accrediting organization approves events to provide CEU’s for counselors. For those in the state of Indiana, licensing is handled by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
Local Continuing Education Opportunities
Tara Treatment Center presents some great local opportunities for CEU’s. This page is a great resource where our partners share CEU opportunities. It is a place to share, learn, and grow together as a community.
The Ninth Annual Ann Daugherty Symposium is a great opportunity to get 6 CEU’s! This conference is a forum for professionals, policymakers, educators, and the public from diverse disciplines interested in the biochemical, genetic, behavioral, and public health aspects of addiction. This event is approved by both the ICAADA and IAAP as a continuing education opportunity for counselors. The symposium will be June 6th from 8am to 4:30pm. Check the Events and Training page above for more information, or click here to sign up.
Another great upcoming opportunity by CIRC is scheduled for May 18th, ‘Adapting the 12 Steps to Mental Health Treatment‘. More information can be found here.
