Aids individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance abuse problems. Provides education and transportation to outside activities. Supports clinical counseling staff and case managers. Assists with special projects at the instruction of the Program Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor and/or CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Assist in maintaining Tara Treatment Center, Inc.’s philosophy, goals, and objectives by applying and adapting these to direct client care
• Facilitates supportive group sessions as directed by counselor to assist clients by addressing alcohol or drug dependency problems and related consequences
• Provides spontaneous and/or crisis counseling
• Observes and facilitates client self-administered medication, and utilizes established record keeping
• Maintains clear, concise and timely documentation in Sigmund
• Networks with family members to coordinate participation in the family program
• Provides transportation to scheduled appointments and any other outside activities
• Answering the telephone, completing and routing initial intakes to designated person
• Orientate new admissions to the facility
• Administers random urine drug screens
• Attends training on policy, procedures and continuing education
• Maintains an active role as a member of the treatment team and continues to grow in developing skills
• Complete Incident Reports when applicable and route to the Facility Administrator
• Complete work orders and route to Maintenance Supervisor

• High School graduate or its equivalent
• Must have a working knowledge of the disease concept of alcohol/drug dependency, and an understanding of the 12-step fellowships
• Good verbal, writing, and organizational skills
• Willingness to participate in all aspects of client care
• CPR certification must be renewed annually
• Possession of a current valid driver’s license
• Annual Mantoux test or a chest x-ray every two years for tuberculosis
